About ShortsSync.
ShortsSync exists because repurposing your short-form videos should take seconds, not hours.
The problem we solve.
Short-form video is essential for growing an audience. But cross-posting YouTube Shorts to Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels is a tedious process. You have to download your own video file, transfer it to your device, crop and resize it to vertical 9:16 aspect ratios using separate video editing apps, rewrite descriptions and hashtags, and manually re-upload to each platform.
Existing schedulers like Buffer and Hootsuite let you schedule posts, but they all require uploading the raw video from your local device. None of them fetch the clip directly from YouTube, handle vertical resizing, and publish it automatically.
Our solution.
ShortsSync is a fully automated repurposing pipeline. By combining browser helper tools with a Python backend powered by yt-dlp and FFmpeg, we handle the heavy lifting for you. You paste a Shorts link (or click the Chrome Extension button while browsing YouTube), and our backend automatically downloads the video, processes and center-crops it to vertical 9:16 format, formats the caption from your YouTube title and tags, and uploads it directly to Instagram and Facebook Reels.
One click. Full automation. No manual cropping.
Our core principles.
- Privacy & Safety: We don’t store your video files. All clips and thumbnails are deleted permanently immediately after the upload process completes.
- Efficiency First: No complicated dashboards or unnecessary clicks. The Chrome Extension makes queuing a video as simple as clicking a button while watching it on YouTube.
- Creator Moat: Repurpose your entire archive. ShortsSync works retroactively on any existing YouTube Shorts or watch page.
